Eco Power Solutions Expands to South American Market
Ottawa, Ontario – Canada -May 26, 2009
Eco Power Solutions, a global leader in energy recovery and emission control technology for utility and industrial clients announced today the successful completion of a joint Trade Mission to Santiago, Chile. This trade visit was executed with the support and involvement of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, Export Development Canada, the Ontario Ministry of Trade and Investment in conjunction with TradeChile S.A. and the University of Ottawa Executive MBA program.
The primary objective for the Trade Mission was to accelerate business development efforts in establishing sales and marketing operations for the roll-out of Eco Power Solutions flagship technology, the COMPLY 2000, in South America, Australia, New Zealand and the Far East.
“Although we had positive expectations going into this business trip, the outcome of the trade visit far exceeded these expectations,” said Tom Thompson, Chief Executive Officer for Eco Power. “As a result of this trip we have been able to add more than ten additional qualified potential client companies to our pipeline. Our meetings with some of the most important mining, industrial and energy companies in Chile have presented some real potential business opportunities. Additionally, we have had serious discussions with multiple Santiago based engineering firms who are more than qualified to provide us with the on-the-ground engineering support that we would require.”
“Eco Power Solutions brings an innovative and unique technology to address energy sustainability, air quality and green house gas reduction opportunities to the South American marketplace. We are extremely pleased the team from Eco Power have chosen Santiago as their South American headquarters,“ said Veronica Medina, Director of the Chilean Representative Office for the Ontario Ministry of Trade and Investment (TradeChile S.A.). ‘The Chilean market will provide Eco Power a wonderful opportunity to expand their global business and Eco Power will provide a tremendous solution for our utility and industrial businesses.”
“Having the Executive Team from Eco Power join us for the trip was tremendously beneficial for us,” said Terrence Kulka, Director, Executive MBA for the University of Ottawa. “Their collective engagement and participation made the experience that much more exceptional for everyone involved in the program - the buzz and level of enthusiasm that the Eco Power team generated were clearly big contributors to the overall success of the trip.”
“We are excited about the prospect for success in Chile. Our technology provides a real solution to the Chilean industry with regards to emission controls and energy recovery.” said Tom Thompson. “Because of Chile’s stable and transparent market, advanced legal and financial structure and its unique position on free trade, Chile is a very attractive market for Eco Power to invest and use as a beach head for expansion in the Pacific Rim.”
